23rd FebRESPONSE OF THE NORTH .H.A. TO THE EH GOVERNANCE REVIEW PROPOSAL

Following the meetings that have recently taken place across the North at which Clubs and Associations were given the opportunity to discuss issues relating to the England Hockey Governance Review with members of England Hockey, the North H. A. Executive Committee met on Monday 17th February to consider their response to the proposal which will be presented at the 2020 E.H. AGM on March 17th.
The wording of the resolution will be:
‘Approval of the resolution to endorse the ‘Structure Fit for the Future’ proposal and instruct England Hockey to work with the membership with the aim to deliver the changes proposed in the timeline set out in the full proposal document.’
70 Clubs and Associations were represented at the meetings and the overwhelming majority indicated that they were in favour of the resolution. Accordingly, the North H.A. Executive Committee voted unanimously to support the proposal.
All Clubs should have received the booklet entitled, ‘ A Structure Fit for the Future’ in which the major changes to the way in which our sport is administered and governed are detailed.
The North H.A. Executive encourages all clubs to exercise their vote and information on the voting process can be found on the England Hockey website.

England Hockey Governance Review Full Proposal
England Hockey has been consulting widely and developing a proposal for change for the membership to consider at the 2020 England Hockey AGM. This consultation process and the steps taken along the way are all available here.
http://www.englandhockey.co.uk/agmresolution
In the summer of 2019 a series of consultations were undertaken around the country, followed by an online survey for members. Having taken on board this feedback an updated proposal now sets out the plan to modernise, streamline and improve the administration of hockey for the benefit of players, clubs and the organising bodies.
This presents a once-in-a-generation opportunity to systematically improve the sport while aligning our collective efforts more effectively.
The proposals will help to create:
• A fairer structure for clubs and participants to progress within competitions and league structures
• Common league rules across the genders and different areas
• Improved junior competition structures
• Less travel for clubs and players
• Common structures and approaches that will make administration easier for clubs and associations
• A leaner, more accountable structure that will be easier to improve in the future, aligned to clubs' wishes.
All clubs have the opportunity to vote electronically on this proposal, details that will sent to clubs in the near future

12th Dec (2018)Urinating at the side of a hockey pitch.

We are seeing an increasing number of complaints regarding urinating at the side of the pitch. As we are sure you will all agree, this behaviour is not only unpleasant but also a contravention of the EH ‘Respect – Code of Ethics and Behaviour’ – Disrepute Offence, not to mention in some cases a criminal offence. We expect all members to refrain from such behaviour. However, in the event of such incidences, in keeping with the revised Disrepute Complaint Regulations, we kindly ask that these be referred to EH as a Disrepute Complaint in the first instance. It is likely that offenders will face a suspension.
